Discounts and Coupons

For Shopping Cart orders, coupons and discounts can be handled in 2 different ways:

1. as one or more line item with negative amount
2. as a "discount" field on the order itself

Teapplix records such discounts differently.

1. Line Item with Negative

Teapplix requires you to "map" this item name to a QuickBooks "Discount" type item. There is no exception to is even if you set Teapplix to use default item or create items automatically. You must have a pre-existing discount item and map the item name to it.

2. "Discount" Box on Orders

In Teapplix Integration Setup, you get to pick a discount item that will be used if the order itself has "discount" field filled in. Teapplix will export the order to QuickBooks using that line item as an extra line.
